Variables
Lincoln's Sparrow
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with April
maximum temperature (hex. med.) of 6-11 C and a July precipitation
(hex. med.) of 12-49 mm. In somewhat warmer areas (April maximum
temperature [hex. med.] of 12 C), its distribution corresponded mostly
with a relatively wet April precipitation (hex. min.) of 21-147 mm. In
the warmest parts of its Oregon range (April maximum temperature
[hex. med.] of 13-18 C), it occurred mostly in hexagons with varied
topography. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or
negative association with ponderosa pine forest, subalpine fir -
lodgepole pine montane conifer, true fir - mountain hemlock montane
forest, mixed conifer forest (Northeast Oregon), elevation (hex. avg.),
the extent of public land, April maximum temperature (hex. avg.), July
minimum temperature (hex. min.), and-to a lesser degree-May
minimum temperature (hex. avg.).
